Toby D. Couture, MA, MSc., has over two decades of experience working on solar power, battery storage, policy and regulatory issues, as well as transaction advisory. He has worked in over fifty (50) countries worldwide spanning Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and the Americas. As founder of E3 Applied, he brings a depth of market experience on the rapidly growing market for C&I solar+storage and has worked on dozens of projects modelling the financial performance of solar and battery storage assets. Over the course of his career, he has engaged with hundreds of clients across multiple cultures and languages, he is fluently trilingual in English, French, and German, and also speaks basic Greek, Swahili, and Spanish. After completing his MSc. at the London School of Economics (LSE) in 2011, he moved to Berlin, where he is now based with his wife and kids.

Aaron Rose, PhD, is an energy systems analyst specializing in techno-economic optimization of distributed energy resources and microgrids for resilient, cost-effective power. He brings over a decade of experience in energy technologies including extensive knowledge of solar and storage systems and facility optimization. From 2023 to 2026, he was a technical lead and advisor of a U.S. DOE technical assistance program for distributed energy projects at NLR (formerly NREL). Aaron earned his doctorate in physics in 2019 and a postdoc in 2023, leading research on light-matter interactions in nanomaterials for next generation photovoltaics and fossil-free production of chemicals. Prior to his graduate work, he was a Peace Corps volunteer in Burkina Faso, West Africa, where he worked on the ground for two years.

Mirna Monla, M.Sc., MBE, brings nearly two decades of experience in the construction and infrastructure sectors, with a particular focus on the procurement and delivery of complex built assets. As founder of Aequora, Mirna advises clients independently and collaborates with E3 Applied on selected engagements involving the commercial and contractual aspects of major capital projects. Her experience spans procurement and contracting strategy, navigating foreign exchange risk, contract and claims management, as well as the allocation and management of commercial and delivery risk throughout the project lifecycle. She has supported clients on projects ranging from offshore wind developments to large-scale industrial and logistics real estate investments. Originally trained as an architect, Mirna's professional experience is complemented by specialist studies in international construction law and renewable energy finance. She has published and spoken on construction dispute resolution, and guest lectures on FIDIC contract forms and claims management.

Stefano Fisco has nearly 10 years of experience in industrial decarbonisation and energy management. He works closely with SMEs and industrial clients in hard-to-abate sectors, helping them reduce carbon emissions and energy costs to meet their sustainability goals. He holds an MSc in Energy Engineering from the University of Bologna, is a native Italian speaker, and is fluent in Spanish and English. He is based in Milan.

James Kurz has over a decade of experience working on solar power, battery storage, energy policy and regulatory issues, project development, commercial and strategy consulting, as well as transaction advisory. He has worked in over a dozen countries spanning North America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia. For 6 years James worked for a Berlin-based cleantech advisory tackling strategy consulting projects spanning the entire PV value chain from module and cell manufacturing to mounting structures and trackers to project development and financing. Furthermore, he was responsible for global PV market and policy tracking and forecasting. He then worked for a Berlin-based renewable energy investor on PV and wind developments covering German, French, US and Polish activities. Since 2022 he has worked on a self-employed basis developing PV and PV-battery projects in Germany and Poland, while also occasionally doing strategy and policy advisory independently. James has a dual bachelor degree (Economics and Commerce) from the University of Toronto and completed his MBA. at the University of St. Gallen) in 2011.

Matthijs van de Wiel, MSc, is an energy analyst with a background in quantitative modelling and policy research. For a leading energy transition think tank, he researched which distribution grid technologies suit fast-growing power systems in Vietnam and Indonesia. He has also worked on how Hungary can connect its grid to its neighbours to absorb its rapid growth in solar. At E3 Applied, he works across both analysis and operations. He supports the modelling and market research behind solar+storage projects, and builds the tools and processes that turn the senior team's expertise into briefs and material clients can use. He also looks after the firm's communications, website and business development. Matthijs holds an MSc in Engineering & Policy Analysis from Delft University of Technology, where he specialised in modelling complex socio-technical systems. He speaks Dutch natively, is fluent in English and has a good working knowledge of German. He is based in Berlin.
